2024 Girls Winter Tryouts

HOW MANY TEAMS DO YOU HAVE PER GRADE?

We aim for no more than (2) teams at every age level, however the number of players who participate in tryouts during each season will ultimately determine the number of teams that we have each year. The Colorado Roughriders are a competitive organization and not all of the players that tryouts will be placed on a team.

HOW ARE TEAMS SELECTED? All players are evaluated by our coaching staff. After our evaluation process, the players are selected, placed on a team and informed by email and asked to commit in the following 72 hours.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE SELECTED FOR EACH TEAM?

Our goal is to have 9 - 10 players on each team.

WHO ARE THE ROUGHRIDER COACHES? All our coaches are USA Basketball Certified and are either former High School, College or Professional coaches or players.

WHAT PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY? 

• ALL! (2) practices per week. If you can not attend we must know 24 hours prior so we can adjust our practice plan if needed. 
• We will practice (2) days each week and require each player to attend a sports membership class (1) day a week.

WHAT TIME ARE PRACTICES?

• 4-8th Grade Boys: Monday and Wednesday 4:30-6:00 or 6:00-7:30p or 7:30-9:00 pm
• 4-8th Grade Girls: Monday and Wednesday 4:30-6:00p 6:00-7:30pm
• We will determine the specific times after teams have been established

WHEN DOES PRACTICE START? 

Our first practice will be on November 11

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A UNIFORM? 

We will be using the same uniforms we used this fall through the winter. If you do not already have a uniform, you will need to purchase a uniform.

**IMPACT SPORTS MEMBERSHIP: Included in your tuition is an all access membership to Impact Sports. Impact sports will be hosting up to 200 classes per month. Classes such as Strength-1, 2, 3, yoga, plyometrics, speed and agility, etc will be offered. These classes will be available Monday-Friday, 5:00-9:00P. These will be first come, first serve. You can attend as many classes as you want!

WHAT DOES THIS EVENT SCHEDULE TYPICALLY LOOK LIKE? 

• 4th - 8th Grade teams will play in local tournaments and the JPS League

DO YOU OFFER ADDITIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING? YES!

Our skill development partners at Elevate Your Game (EYG) http://eygbball.com offer individual, small group, and large camps, all year round. 

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS THE COLORADO ROUGHRIDERS HAVE FOR MY PLAYER? 

1. Be present, and attend all practices and games! 
2. Be a teammate, support and encourage all players in our program
3. Be a learner, pay attention, accept coaching, and have a great attitude
4. Be a worker, in the gym, at your house, or on vacation. Find time to improve yourself! 
5. Be a Roughrider, carry yourself with pride, and represent our Brand to your best ability
